After the funeral, when the cards and flowers have stopped coming, most of the people around you return to their normal lives. But your grief continues and you feel alone.
Often, friends and family want to help you, but don't know how. That's the reason for GriefShare. GriefShare will offer support and walk with you on the long path through grief toward healing and hope for the future.
GriefShare meets weekly on Tuesdays fromin the Valparaiso First United Methodist Church Library, located on the 2nd floor, and will be facilitated by Lawrence Pincus of LPA Counseling. This FREE support group is open to anyone that is struggling with the loss of a loved one and is open not only to church members/attendees, but also to the public.
Grief Support Groups for Children and Teens
Grieving the loss of a loved one is difficult, especially for a child. When a child loses a loved one to death or incarceration, the loss can have a profound effect on the rest of his or her life. To assist children with the grief they may be experiencing, two grief groups will be offered. One for children 5 to 11 years old, and the other for teens ages 12 to 18. The groups will be free of charge and facilitated by therapists of LPA Counseling. The group will be structured to run in 4 week cycles and to include support and psycho-education to help members process their loss in a safe environment, free of judgement.
